Rush Select

Rush Select

The Rush Select program is an international program in which Rush Soccer forms "all start teams" that are comprised of the top Rush players from all across the world.  The program starts from age U13 and is available through a players career with Rush Soccer ending at U19. These teams attend various events, both in the US and internationally on a yearly basis. The players get to see new ideas, play with top talent, learn from new coaches and develop as a player in a way most across the country can not.  The programs aim is to give the top players within Rush unique learning experiences that help them evolve as both a player and a person.

USYSA Olympic Development Program (ODP)

    US Youth Soccer

To identify players of the highest caliber on a continuing and consistent basis; this will lead to increased success for the US National Teams in the international arena.

    Tennessee State Soccer Association

Tennessee ODP’s mission is to identify and develop players through our ODP process.  TN Soccer ODP creates a positive, competitive, and inspiring learning environment that is unique and conducive to the enhanced development of players and coaches. The State will prepare as many players as possible for the State, Regional, National, and International Team level competitions.

In 1977, the Olympic Development Program was introduced to identify a pool of players, from which a National Team would be selected. This would begin at the state level, advancing regionally, and finally to the national level. Player Development has shifted to the clubs, with ODP acting as a supplement, giving elite players opportunities to play against the best and to provide them exposure at the regional, national, and international levels.

Tennessee Soccer seeks a process to identify and train the best players, so they may qualify for Tennessee Soccer, Region III, and US National Team Programs. Tennessee Soccer seeks to enhance the development of each player, guided by high level licensed coaches. It is our goal to give exposure to each player, and to assist him/her in obtaining college scholarship opportunities.

In Tennessee, there are three phases of the selection process: STATE TRIAL, STATE POOL, STATE TEAM. The oldest age group (2002), and youngest age group (2010) vary slightly in structure from the other three age groups. Details for each of the age groups are noted below.

    ODP Process

Players that are new must attend the state trials.  Following the state trials players will be selected to attend the state pool.  At the state pool returning state team players and alternates will be added in with new selected players from the state trial.  Players will train at the state pool training together then attend the sub-region event.  The outcome of the sub-region event is to identify the new state team roster for the 2021 season.

US Club id2

Established in 2004, US Club Soccer’s id2 National Identification and Development Program provides an opportunity for the country’s elite youth soccer players to be identified and developed, and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s National Team programs.

The id2 Program is an Olympic Development Program (ODP) as approved by the United States Olympic Committee and U.S. Soccer Federation.

  • The id2 Program is open to all players regardless of U.S. Soccer affiliation, or lack thereof.
  • There is no cost to players to be identified for or participate in the id2 Program. For id2 Training Camps, all lodging, meals and training gear are provided at no cost by US Club Soccer and Nike. For National Selection programming, airfare/travel is also provided at no cost.
  • Players should be initially scouted within the environment they are most comfortable – their club training and competition environment. Clubs have the largest impact on player development, and club coaches and club competitions must be an integral part of the id2 Program.
  • Players are rated and evaluated for inclusion in the program based up on a combination of:  (i) objective and independent scouting information; and (ii) information from the players’ regular trainers and coaches.
  • The id2 Program does not create significant additional demands on the calendar of the elite player.
