Spring 2023- Briarcrest Recreational Soccer

Briarcrest Recreational Soccer Program is designed as an instructional program to introduce players to the fundamental skills and tactics of soccer while providing a FUN and organized environment for improvement.

The focus of the Instructional Program is for players to get maximum touches on the ball. We want them to become comfortable with the ball at their field. This program places a heavy emphasis on touch and ball control and a light emphasis on tactical play. The goal of the training is to provide individualized and small group technical training and then progress into small sided rotating games.

Briarcrest and Lobos coaches Alexis Boyd Heinz, Axel Sandoval, and Clare Latham Swatley will oversee all aspects of training and player development with Lobos Rush Organization as its backing and support.

All Sessions will take place at Briarcrest and will be run by Coach Clare, Coach Axel, and Coach Alexis, and a staff of Briarcrest and Lobos coaches. All training will take place on the Briarcrest Varsity Soccer Field, the Briarcrest West Field, and/or the Briarcrest gyms.

Players will train as a group with age appropriate Size 3 and 4 soccer balls. Small sided games will consist of 3v3 and 4v4 rotating games. There will be no Goal Keepers. Each team will have a coach and Coaches Clare, Axel, and Alexis will be on site to demonstrate, assist, and coach players.

There are no uniforms. Players need to wear appropriate athletic clothing. Cleats and shin guards are beneficial but not required. Bring a size 3 or 4 soccer ball.

Field Location. Briarcrest Christian School 76 South Houston Levee Road, Eads, TN 38028.

Registration Information. Training is open to ANYONE interested. You do NOT have to be enrolled at Briarcrest to participate.

MUNCHKIN PRESCHOOL PROGRAM for 3-5 year olds

We will continue the PRESCHOOL PROGRAM to our Saturday Lobos Rush Recreational Program. Our Preschool Program is a fun, non-competitive program. The purpose is to introduce and help our youngest soccer players begin to develop basic soccer skills. We will have fun, soccer oriented games with basic physical education activities. These games are specifically designed with an emphasis on skill development at an early age. This will enhance the child's overall ability and interest in the sport. This program is not focused on competitive team play. Rather we will keep each child in constant contact with a soccer ball so as to develop fundamental skills.

Children will be divided into small groups to allow for individual time and instruction.
