What happens when a SafeSport report has been filed?
The respondent (the person reported to have caused harm) will be placed on leave immediately and informed of a no-contact directive to all club members. Claimant(s) (a person reported to have experienced harm) will remain anonymous.
The club will not investigate the allegations. That's the role of The Center, NGB, and/or Law Enforcement.
Players, Parents, Family Members, Coaches & Staff must refrain from publicly addressing or discussing a reported SafeSport violation. This could be viewed as potential retaliation against the claimant, the reporter, or the respondent, and is strictly prohibited by law.
Retaliation
Retaliation is any adverse action or threat to take any adverse action against any person related to allegations of Prohibited Conduct or involvement in any activity related to the reporting or investigative processes of the Center or other relevant entities under the Center’s jurisdiction.
Retaliation in any form is strictly prohibited, violates the SafeSport Code, and is punishable accordingly. Please see the SafeSport Code for more details.
Secondary Injury Insurance
As part of the registration fees, all players are covered by secondary insurance. The coverage varies depending on the registering organization.
If you’re unsure who your player is registered with, please email playsoccer@lobosrush.com
Goal/Field Safety
It's the coaching staff's responsibility to assess field conditions before each practice & game. The goal must always be anchored to avoid tipping. Please watch this video for more information.
Referee Abuse Prevention
Referees are integral to the game; without them, games can’t happen. 60% of referees choose not to recertify due to harassment and threats. US Soccer has implemented a new Referee Abuse Prevention (RAP) program to tackle abuse with stronger guidelines and stiffer punishments for offenders.
