Volunteer

Lobos Rush is managed by the Collierville Soccer Association, a 501 c3 non-profit organization. Our club relies heavily on an army of volunteers to run many programs such as our tournaments, recreational soccer, TOPSoccer buddies and our board executive leadership. Without an army of volunteers the club would grind to a halt!

Ways to Volunteer

Join a Committee - Day to day operations are conducted by staff but club oversight is provided by 2 committees (Recreational and Competitive) and the Executive Board.

Become a TOPSoccer Coach or Buddy - TOPSoccer is our program for children with special needs.  We're always looking for adults to help coach and youths from age 12 and up to help during out weekly sessions.

Recreational Soccer Coach - All recreational teams are coached by volunteers.  You can indicate your preference to be a head or assistant coach during the player registration process.

For more information above the above programs please contact Colleen Balkcom at [email protected]

Tournament Volunteer

The competitive Lobos Rush club fees are heavily subsidized by the tournaments the club hosts each year, these events are our primary fundraisers. All Lobos Rush families are required to volunteer one 4-hour shift. Team managers, team treasurers and board members are exempt from working a tournament shift.

Submit your volunteer commitment by doing the following:

1.  Choose the tournament(s) you wish to work

2.  Enter your e-mail address. One that you use and check as we will send you updates about your shift to this email.
3.  Enter your name and the team’s name for the youngest player in your family.
4.  Enter your mobile number. We will contact volunteers on the day of the event as needed.

A few things to keep in mind as you consider volunteering for a tournament:

  • Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.
  • If a family fails to volunteer before May 1, 2022, and is called on to serve, but cannot, they will be assessed a $200 fee.
  • If your son or daughter does not play until the spring (due to High School soccer, etc.), you can meet your family commitment in the fall, and vice versa.  You do not have to serve in the same season in which your child is competing.

Every position is critical to the success of the tournament.  When you select a shift, it is important that you are prepared to work the entire shift.  If you must leave your post prior to the end of your shift, please contact Mike Knowles at 901.854.8724 then dial 3. Likewise, if you select a shift but must cancel five days or less prior to your shift, it is your responsibility to find a replacement to work your shift. If such a change is necessary, please contact Mike Knowles by phone or email at  [email protected]. All volunteers are an integral part of the success of these tournaments, and we truly appreciate your support. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Important information about your shift

  • Please check-in for your shift at Soccer Central located in the Mike Rose Soccer Stadium Offices at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your shift to receive instructions. While you are visiting this area of the complex, you must wear a mask at all times as this is a Shelby County facility.
  • Field Marshals receive their field assignments and instructions when they check-in for their shift.  We will try to accommodate those wanting to be assigned to the field on which their child is playing. However, requests are on a first-come basis.
  •  Field Marshals will need to have a mobile phone with them during their shift. Please be sure to provide that number at check-in and during the registration process on VolunteerSpot.
